Hairdressing Council - UK Student of the Year Awards 2013



Dear Hairdressing Tutors

Do you think you've trained the UK's top hairdressing student?     Why not nominate them for the Hairdressing Council's UK Student of the Year Awards. Learners need to create a finished look and submit four photos of their model (the look must be recreated in 50 minutes should they reach the final). The Level 2 entrants will be asked to dress hair in a red carpet fashion and the Level 3 will be asked to cut and blow dry an innovative style of their choice. There will be regional winners and runners up (a regional win does not guarantee a place at the final).
The judges are Patrick Cameron, Lisa Shepherd and Andrew Barton.
The eight highest in each level will get through to the final.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND IMAGES IN NOW - WE ONLY REQUIRE NOMINATIONS,
ALONG WITH THE ENTRY FEES, BY 26th APRIL
The entry fee will be £29 per student and includes one year's state registration once qualified. Payment must be included with the nominations and is not refundable should a student pull out of the competition.

The closing date for nominations is: 26th April
The closing date for images is: 28th June

Judging will take place in July and those who have been successful in getting to the final
will be notified at the beginning of August.

The highest marks from across the regional heats will determine the 8 finalists from each Level. They will then compete in the final at the L'Oréal studios in London on Sunday 13th October 2013. The finals will comprise a 50 minute practical and 10 minute interview. The winners will be announced later that day at Salon International, live on stage. The two overall winners will receive fantastic prizes including a trophy, an iPad 2, a day with Andrew Barton, Tea at the House of Commons and vouchers for a course with L'Oréal and Wella.
