Handbook
The Handbook of Hairdressers provides details of the professional location of everyone on the State Register of Hairdressers. This is the first time such information has been available in such an accessible form.
The Handbook has been welcomed by both industry and public. When launched at Salon International in October 2001, the Handbook went on immediate sale to hairdressers.
While the official or State Register of recognised hairdressers forms its core, the Handbook contains lots of other useful information:
- A brief history of the registration of hairdressers
- Hairdressing as a career
- Choosing a hairdresser
- Celebrity profiles
- Hair colouring today
- Skin care
- What to do when something goes wrong
- UK Student of the Year Awards
- The Hairdressing Council
- Starting your own hairdressing business
- Developing the business side of a salon
- Selling your salon
- Salon health and safety
- Risks in hairdressing; how to insure yourself against them
- Negligence claims against hairdressers
- Looking after your clients
